Do you know what to expect at a boudoir shoot?  If you don't, I'm not surprised. If you're curious, continue reading....

The process I follow can be broken down into three logical parts; Pre-Shoot, Shoot, and Post Shoot. If you still find yourself having questions after reading this, please contact me and I’ll be happy to answer any of your questions.

PRE-SHOOT

Obviously it all begins when you contact me. And you can do that right here.   Once we make contact through email, phone, or text message,  we can chat in more detail.  One of those details will be a link to the shoot details questionnaire.  This will provide me with a better sense of what you are wanting from your session with me.   It's your opportunity to tell me about your boudoir session; everything from when you are wanting to schedule your shoot, to why you are interested in booking the shoot.

Once we have had a chance to get your questions answered, discussed available dates, and confirmed we're in alignment, I can send you an official proposal for the session. Within this proposal will be the boudoir contract, which protects both of us, and an invoice along with any applicable payment.  If everything looks good, then you'll sign the contract and pay the invoice.  After these details are out of the way, you are officially booked with LifeCurvesStudio!! Yeah!!

Booking is just the start. Now let's talk about the preparation leading up to your session.

I am a firm believer that the amount of preparation put into a shoot directly correlates to how successful the shoot is. Additionally, I will send you a copy of my image usage addendum, which is a quick questionnaire in which you can let me know how and if you are comfortable with me using any images from your session; and a boundaries and comfort level disclosure, which is a questionnaire in which I have you tell me what your comfort level and boundaries are for the shoot. This helps me get a better idea of what kind of poses and themes you may be interested in during your session.

THE SHOOT

So now the day is here. All of the shoot prep details are taken care of and we're ready to go!  I will normally arrive at the location we are shooting a few minutes ahead of the scheduled time. This is to give me time to get my gear ready to go, have a look at the space and your wardrobe options, and just generally have a quick chat with you about how you’re feeling and to check-in.  I will usually ask your thoughts on what outfit you feel the most comfortable in; for some people, this may be a t-shirt and some panties and for others, this might mean shooting nude from the start. Everyone is different so whatever you feel the most comfortable with is fine by me. Once the first outfit is selected we will go over to the first area that I want to shoot in and we will get started shooting.

I am a big proponent of the demonstration because as we have pointed out, many of you have no idea what you are doing as far as posing goes. You are wives, girlfriends, neighbors, moms, teachers, etc...not models. I can demonstrate it myself for you so that you can see what I am talking about. I also carry an iPad with me that allows you to view the pose digitally.

POST SHOOT

Once I get back in front of my computer, I'll go through the images and narrow down to the best ones from the session so that you can easily go through in a gallery.  The objective is to ensure that only the absolute best images from the shoot end up in your gallery.

I use Adobe Lightroom to edit the images that will be included in your gallery.  I don’t put the final edits on the images until after you select your favorites.  I do not edit the images very extensively. I try to leave your images as natural as possible. ie; if you're a brunette I'm not going to make you a blonde!

Your private online gallery will be available for 3 weeks. This should give you sufficient time to decide which images you like from the session. The gallery is not public, only you and I will have the link.
